Abjectio is a series of sculptural objects composed of three works:
1. Abjectio (Installation, 2006)
latex, plastic hose, rusty wire, acrylic boxes: variable dimensions
2. Abjected Bodies I (object/sculpture, 2006)
latex, rusty wire, acrylic boxes: 8x8x3 cm each object
3. Abjected Bodies II (kinetic sculpture, 2007)
Latex, rusty metal, dc motors and custom electronics: 98 x 25x25 cm each object
.....With an organic, fragile and unstable appearance, these objects - which sometimes are shut in transparent acrylic boxes or sometimes hung from the ceiling- either remain motionless and still, or move softly and unexpectedly.
.....Shapeless sculptures that distort the human trace. Artificial shapes that hardly remind the body. Above all, ambiguous forms: sexed and asexed, attractive and repulsive, real and artificial, erotic and evil, human and monstrous. Fragmented and degraded bodies (or body like parts) that disturb the identity, the order, the system; not respecting the conventional borders, the positions and the roles.
